Example of Day Neutral Plants

 The length of the day and night required for the initiation of flowering is called the photoperiod. Depending upon the length of photoperiod, Garner and Allard classified plants into three groups. They are short-day plants, long-day plants, and day-neutral plants.

Photoperiod has no effect on the flowering of such plants. They do not have specific photoperiods. 

Examples of Day-Neutral Plants

• Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum)
• Corn (Zea mays)
• Potato (Solanum tubersum)
• Cucumber (Cucumis sativus)
• Chilli pepper (Capsicum annum )
• Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum)

They are also called indeterminate plants or photo-neutral plants.
