Notes on Geological Time Scale

The geologic time scale is a system of chronological measurement that relates stratigraphy to time, and is used by  scientists to describe the timing and relationships between events that have occurred throughout Earth's history.

This is a "must learn" topic of CSIR. You can expect one or two questions. The best thing is just remember the table using some codes. Definitely, you can answer without much brain work. You must prepare a note on Geological time scale which include important events  and the era to which it belongs like origin of flowering plants, origin of mammals, origin of terrestrial plants,  golden age of reptiles .

The geological time Scale (PDF-1 & PDF -2) shows the main cause of earth history with increasing biodiversity.
